Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer at Vizbee will be a part of the Virtual TV platform and web services team at Vizbee. The Senior Software Engineer requires strong experience with latest front-end and back-end Javascript technologies and also requires domain expertise in working with apps on various TVs like Samsung TVs and Vizio TVs. The role also requires strong communication and project management skills to effectively collaborate with a variety of customers.

Job duties:

Contribute to the Virtual TV platform and web services team.
Determine requirements and create design documentation for various platform and service features.
Lead the development of various JavaScript-based TV apps and manage their testing and submission to app stores.
Develop and deploy webs services using AWS tools.
Update Javascript app build and test scripts to include continuous integration and testing.
Consult with customers on project status, technical issues.

Qualifications:

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or closely related with 7+ years of software development experience

Skills:

Strong experience with latest Javascript technologies including TypeScript, ES6 and NodeJS.
Working experience with deploying and managing AWS services
Strong expertise in video streaming technologies like Http Live streaming protocol, encoding, video players, closed captions etc.
Familiarity with use of engineering project management tools including github, JIRA, pivotalTracker etc.
Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred:

Working experience in multiple video apps published to app stores strongly preferred.
Experience with developing, testing and managing submissions of apps to javascript based TV platforms.

Mobile developer

As a mobile developer, you'll build and own the Android and iOS SDKs and APIs that underpin our platform. The role also requires strong communication and project management skills to effectively collaborate with a variety of customers.

Job duties:

Support full development lifecycle by contributing to design, coding, testing and release management.
Contribute to architectural design and UI ideas to develop new features.
Troubleshooting and debugging at various stages of development.
Collaborate closely with the team in a highly collaborative environment for integration, design, and testing.
Program in Objective C, Swift, Java or Kotlin.
Involved in CICD and automation.
Develop prototypes to demonstrate product ideas.

Qualifications:

Minimum bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or closely related with 5+ years of software development experience.

Skills:

Strong expertise in video streaming technologies like HTTP Live Streaming, video encoding, video players, closed captions etc.
Understanding of Test Driven Development and proven experience in software engineering using TDD.
Familiarity with use of engineering project management tools including github, JIRA, pivotalTracker etc.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
